The giveaway has ended. Thank you!
Picture this. It’s a warm Saturday afternoon, and you’re getting ready to do some weekend baking from Make It Paleo 2, our brand new cookbook! Up on the list is a layer cake with a meringue frosting. Which, as you might guess from the title, is a copy of the wedding cake we had at OUR wedding. Super yum!
And you have the perfect tool for an afternoon full of baking sweet treats. A KitchenAid stand mixer. But not just any KitchenAid mixer. The BIG ONE. Their 7 quart mixer is the top of the line consumer model, basically a professional mixer that they can sell to regular folks. It’s the culinary equivalent of putting on your superhero cape… suddenly, you can do anything!

We’re IN LOVE with our 7 quart KitchenAid.
We’ve been fortunate to have this very same mixer in our kitchen for three years now, and it is, without a doubt, the most reliably awesome countertop appliance we own. There’s one thing you can always count on: a KitchenAid will do exactly what its supposed to do. How many things can you actually say that about these days? We’ve used our 7qt KitchenAid through the making of THREE cookbooks, and it has never let us down!
Meringue Frosting (Pg 382) from Make It Paleo 2
Well, you’re here to have a shot at winning one, right? Cool! We always love giving things away that we ALSO love, and can stand behind. This is always our favorite giveaway of the year, because it’s a product we thoroughly believe in. Every spring, we partner with KitchenAid in celebration of their sponsorship of the senior PGA event. This year’s 2015 Senior PGA event is being held at French Lick Resort (in Indiana), which is a Pete Dye designed golf course. As a former landscape architect, that name carries some serious clout (sort of like having a Picasso painting, or living in a building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, or eating a dish personally cooked by Thomas Keller). You get the point, yeah? It’s a big deal.
So in celebration of KitchenAid and the Senior PGA Tour event at French Lick, we get to give away their biggest and best stand mixer! Seriously!
Let’s take a moment to admire it in action:
(You can find that recipe at the bottom of this post!)
So picture yourself winning one of these! Entering this year’s giveaway is easier than ever before.

I would use the mixer to make your grain free sandwich bread! It would be awesome to have fresh baked bread instead of buying the frozen kind! 🙂

I would make this frosting. Looks amazing! 🙂
First thing I would make… lemon meringue cheese cake. And make it as paleo as possible. My family wouldn’t know the difference. 🙂

What a great contest, love it, what I would make first with the 7qt mixer (which I have been wanting to get for years) would be a Paleo Cake. I used to bake all the time but the past few months since I changed my diet to Paleo I haven’t baked anything so this would be the perfect time to start honing in my Paleo baking skills with that amazing mixer!
I have never owned a KitchenAid mixer, I really need one. I have a KitchenAid range and love that! I would love to make my favorite cheesecake with them!
First thing: Start baking “sweet things” from my new “Make it Paleo II” cookbook. I love this cookbook! Including the recipes given in this post. Thank you, the strawberry short bread looks wonderful!
Strawberry shortcake is pretty much the best dessert ever. With this recipe and a new mixer, I COULD CONQUER THE WORLD!!!
I think it’s time I take on a pavlova from scratch, and top it with coconut whipped cream! Something tells me this KitchenAid would nail it!
First I would make that beautiful Strawberry Shortcake!!!! Yum!!! Hope I win!!
I have been wanting and needing one of these mixers for a long time. I would defiantly make the Tiramisu and the Dark Chocolate Cake!

Awesome! I would make the new chocolate cookies and double chocolate tart! Love it!
I WOULD MAKE ALL THE THINGS. SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT BAKING MAKES ME SO HAPPY. But for real, that strawberry shortcake looks so baller. I would make that first. Totes mcgotes.

Paleo brownies!
As a graduate student it is always comforting to come home to something that takes my mind off an exhausting and often times defeating day of failed experiments. Baking has always been that comfort providing that added reassurance that a crappy day can end on a sweet note 🙂 I would use the kitchen aid to bake chocolate chip cookies because CC-cookies make everything better!
I would make strawberry shortcake from scratch. Maybe the paleo version. I’m still struggling with paleo baking.
The first thing I would make is pizza dough! I’ve been wanting a Kitchen Aid mixer for all my baking!
I would make Nigella Lawson’s PassionFruit Pavlova Cake. Healthy, light and refreshing and perfect for the summer!
I would make pancakes or cake or cookies ….
Oh boy that’s a toss up for me either mashed potatoes or that delicious strawberry shortcake… How cool is this!!! Thanks for the opportunity ohhh I bet I could make granola or cheesecake… How am I supposed to decide lol maybe I’m just hungry right now ?
As a graduate student it is always comforting to come home to something that helps take your mind off of an exhausting and often times defeating day of research. Baking is that comfort because it is always ends my day on a more positive note. I would make chocolate chip cookies in this kitchen aid because CC-cookies result in a sweet ending to some of the most frustrating of days!
Mashed sweet potatoes! They come out oh so perfect in a stand mixer.
I would make cookies!! All sorts of cookies for the holidays. I’d bring them to our family parties and share with our loved ones. I’d even venture as far to make sugar free cookies for the diabetics in our family, and we have a lot of them!
I would love this industrial sized for pasteurize my fresh goats milk! Right now the process takes an hour a day because it has to be cooled in batches.
I would make scones!
What a wonderful mixer, I’ve always wanted one. I would make the strawberry shortcake for my husband and myself, then I would make a pumpkin cheesecake with pecan pralines for my daughters.
anything that needs whipping, would be so much easier then by hands, dough especially
I would definitely make one of the awesome pastries from Make it Paleo 2…just bought it at Costco yesterday!
Six weeks ago, the answer to this question would be easy. I would make my grandmother’s famous cookies. We call them “big mama” cookies. And I would teach my little one how to make them. But since trying the Paleo diet and reading It Starts with Food, I have reservations about passing the cookie monster habit down. So perhaps the little one and I would make a revised version of Big Mama cookies. Or maybe we would make up our own Paleo cookie recipe to enjoy together. Either way, I know the whole family would enjoy celebrating good, healthy food with the mixer!
What would be the first thing I bake if I won? Oh, that’s a tough one! I love to cook and bake! So I would be trying to bake everything..lol..but i must say I would LOVE to make the German Chocolate Torte..it looks delicious!! I really would love that mixer!! 🙂
I’d make a chocolate cake with white frosting.
whipped coconut cream, doing it with the hand mixer is a pain
I’d have to start with that strawberry shortcake! It looks divine!
I would probably have to start with that chocolate tart you just posted, then move on to the strawberry shortcake… the possibilities would be endless!
I would make a carrot cake. I’ve been wanting carrot cake for a long time.
I neeeeeed..I neeeed…I need.
Like many others have said- this strawberry shortcake looks amazing! I’d make that!!!
That strawberry shortcake looks amazing, I would probably make that!
I’d make the grain free glazed donuts for my family of 6! The kids (and my husband and I) would LOVE it! 🙂
What an awesome giveaway! A KitchenAid mixer has been on my wish list for years! If I won, I would whip up a batch of those Yiddish Kitchen bagels you posted a few weeks ago. Then maybe a batch of grain free chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say, I would get tons of use out of the mixer! 🙂
