Spicy Maple Bacon and Dark Chocolate Scones
Spicy Maple Bacon make these Scones with Dark Chocolate Chunks irresistible ! Made with healthy ingredients these make the perfect breakfast, brunch or dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 cup 1 cup 1 cup Coconut Flour
- 1.5 cup 1.5 cup 1.5 cup Blanched Almond Flour
- 1.5 tsp 1.5 tsp 1.5 tsp Baking Powder
- 0.333 cup 0.333 cup 0.333 cup Coconut Milk
- 2 Tbsp 2 Tbsp 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil, Organic
- 2 whole 2 whole 2 whole Eggs, Pastured
- 1 lb 1 lb 1 lb Bacon, cooked and cooled Spicy Maple Bacon
- 1 cup 1 cup 1 cup Dark Chocolate, pieces
- 1.5 Tbsp 1.5 Tbsp 1.5 Tbsp BBQ Blend Spice Mix (click for recipe), or favorite spicy seasoning blend (I use Spicy Everything Seasoning from Flavor God). For bacon.
- 10 oz 10 oz 10 oz Maple Syrup, Pure, for bacon
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- [For the Maple Bacon] Add seasoning to maple syrup and allow to infuse overnight or for several days
- Preheat oven to 450F
- Place Bacon slice on baking sheet, do not crowd bacon
- Drizzle some infused maple syrup over each slice of bacon and cook for 10 minutes
- Remove from oven and turn each slice of bacon over and bake for another 10 minutes or until desired crispiness is reached.
- [For the scones] Preheat oven to 375F
- Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- In one bowl combine almond flour, coconut flour and baking powder
- In another bowl, combine eggs, coconut milk, coconut oil and eggs and mix well
- Now, add contents of both bowls to a food processor and mix until a dough ball is formed
- Remove from food processor and mix in bacon and chocolate pieces gently by hand
- Form into your favorite shape and bake for 20-25 minutes
