Apple Crisp
This healthy and delicious dessert is sure to please any crowd and perfect to serve in the fall.
Ingredients
- 4 whole 4 whole 4 whole Apple, organic, peeled and diced
- 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp Orange Zest
- 2 Tbsp 2 Tbsp 2 Tbsp Orange Juice
- 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 0.25 cup 0.25 cup 0.25 cup Coconut Sugar
- 1.5 tsp 1.5 tsp 1.5 tsp Cinnamon, ground
- 0.5 tsp 0.5 tsp 0.5 tsp Nutmeg, ground
- 0.666 cup 0.666 cup 0.666 cup Pecans, chopped
- 0.666 cup 0.666 cup 0.666 cup Walnuts, Organic, chopped
- 0.5 cup 0.5 cup 0.5 cup Coconut, shredded, unsweetened
- 0.25 cup 0.25 cup 0.25 cup Coconut Oil, Organic
Process
Note, these instructions are written assuming the standard serving size, since you have modified the number of servings, these steps may need to be modified for best results
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine apples, orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice, 1/4 cup coconut sugar cinnamon, and nutmeg together and place in a 9x9 greased baking dish
- Combine pecans, walnuts, shredded coconut, coconut oil, and coconut sugar until a crumbly "dough" forms
- Sprinkle over apples
- Bake for 1 hour or until apples reach desired doneness
Notes
I used sonya apples, if you use an apple that is less sweet (i.e. granny smith) then you may want to increase the coconut sugar for the apple to 1/3 cup.
