Our new cook book, Make it Paleo 2 is *almost* off to print…hallelujah!! Now we are gearing up to plan our book tour for the release! This is the first book release that we have really had the opportunity to tour for, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with you all! We are so excited to be able to come meet so many of you, but we need your help to pick the locations! We have been going back and fourth for weeks trying to decide where we should go, and we finally realized we should probably ask all of you where you would like us to visit!
For those of you who have missed our recipe teasers from the new book (search #makeitpaleo2 on Instagram!) we wanted to tell you a bit about our new book, and why we are so excited to share it with you! When we were thinking about starting on another cookbook, we went back and forth with ideas for a theme. One day I said to Bill, “I really wish we could make Make it Paleo all over again, it would be so much better now.” We both looked at each other and then said, “why don’t we?” Make it Paleo is so special to us. It is the the physical proof that dreams can come true, and amazing things can grow out of just one little idea. We would never want to replace that book, but we wanted to pay tribute to it by penning an amazing follow up to it. The thing that makes this new book even more special, is that we had my very talented sister help us with this project. My sister Caitlin is a sushi chef, and one of the most talented cooks and food stylists I know. She had a huge impact on this book, and really brought a lot of creativity (and flavor) to this project. Not only do I have 3 cookbooks that were written with my husband, but now a 4th that was written with my husband and sister. This is something that I will really treasure forever.

With Make it Paleo 2, we really tried to adhere to all of the dietary restrictions that are so prominent in the Paleo community now. We have dietary restriction information on each recipe so that you all know which recipes contain eggs, dairy, nuts, and nightshades. For many of the recipes that do contain those foods, we list modifications so that you can still enjoy the recipe! For better navigation of recipes that are suited toward someones particular version of Paleo, we have included a dietary restriction index in the back of the book so you can clearly see which recipes you can eat! This book is JUST as big as the first Make it Paleo, with 180 new recipes, and 432 pages long! We really put it all out there for you guys with this book. Some of our favorite recipes include:
Pork Dumplings
Nightshade-Free (AND Nut-free) Pizza
Breakfast Casserole
Dairy-free Lobster Alfredo
Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Citrus Dressing
Home Fries
Caramelized Fennel with Sweet Potato Puree
Nut-free Pasta Dough
Dry Rubbed Spare Ribs
Stuffed Chicken Thighs
Lamb Barbacoa Tacos with Coconut Flour Tortillas
Chicken en Brodo
Honey Sesame Wings
Orange Chicken
Pan Seared Salmon with Avocado Cream Sauce
Spicy Tuna Dip
Minestrone
This book includes tons of sauces and dressings, fun food projects to get creative in your kitchen, refreshing drinks to get you excited to sip on something besides plain water, a special chapter for all your savory needs including bread, pasta, and pizza crusts, and of course we didn’t forget to include some sweet things! Some of our favorite desserts in this book are:
Blueberry Tart
Luscious Lemon Cupcakes
Petite Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Banana Milkshake
Hot Cocoa
Stracciatella Gelato
…and we even included our Wedding Cake
(not the actual one, just one with the same wonderful flavors!)
We hope you all will vote for your city (or a nearby one), and bring a friend when we come visit your town on our tour! We are so looking forward to sharing this project with all of you and getting to meet you all in person. As we get closer to the release, we’ll share even more sneak peeks from the book, and maybe even a few new recipe videos. Cheers! Hayley & Bill
