Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to team up with the nice folks at KitchenAid to give away one of their beautiful (huge) new 7 quart stand mixers. Being lifelong foodies, we were no strangers to KitchenAid mixers. My mother has one that is at least 25 years old, and was even photographed in our cookbook Make it Paleo. Anyone who has the book has seen it on page 371 in all its’ glory: it is undoubtedly old and has been well used. When KitchenAid reached out to us to try the new 7 quart model and give one away, we were thrilled. Though we do our best to eat a clean (non-treaty) version of Paleo all the time, we felt like something seasonal and delicious would be appropriate. Here is the result:

Needless to say, the new stand mixer performed beautifully and the Strawberry Shortcakes were a hit. We ended up making them several times for family and friends over the subsequent weeks.
