Hey folks!
We’ve been having a BLAST this week hanging out with Juli and George (the masterful cooks and hilarious writers behind PaleOMG and Civilized Caveman, respectively). They are here with us in Pittsburgh, working with our friends at ShoFilms to produce the video for their upcoming cookbook together, The Paleo Kitchen! Many of you are probably jumping up and down and screaming, and dreaming about bacon and cookies and treats. Your wishes will come true in 2014. This book is going to be both beautiful and delicious. (DO NOT MISS the surprise at the end of this post, but NO PEEKING.)
Rather than write about all the various things we’ve done and seen this week, we thought you guys would just want to see all the fun photos and videos. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the hilarity.
Dinner the first night, with Hayley’s sister Caito and our dear friend and stylist Sam.
Before dinner the first night, I (Bill) discovered ” Starbucks Drake Hands” on facebook. From there on out, it’s been nothing but shenanigans, INCLUDING on set of the video shoot.
Here’s the original “Drake Hands” video.
Then after dinner, George and Bill ran to Whole Foods (about 5 minutes before it closed) to grab a couple pints of Jeni’s Ice Cream. Salty Caramel and Cherries with Goat Cheese, in case you were wondering. Then we drizzled our Mexican coffee tequila on it. When you go off, go big!
We really couldn’t stop. At. All.
Water chugging contest. GO!
Yesterday, we were on location for their video shoot and had a LOT of fun. These two are so genuine and charismatic. It’s no wonder they have huge, loyal followings.
Before really shooting, they made their BIG announcement.
After doing some kitchen shots, we headed down the road to our favorite farmers market and got a little footage there too. AND got some food!
The day finished with a big family dinner! Chinese Spiced Ribs (from our blog, and also in Make it Paleo), and a BUNCH of dishes George and Juli made from The Paleo Kitchen for the shoot.
Since the shoot is over, we’re planning on spending some more time just hanging out with these two. Go order their release on Amazon now! Something you may not know about pre-ordering books on amazon. 1. You don’t get charged until the book ships, and 2. You are guaranteed the lowest price between the time you order and the time the book is released. With just about 9 months to go, that’s a lot of time to snag a killer deal without checking up on it constantly. The pre-order is definitely worth it! We’ve tasted several recipes, and they are (at George puts it) the bomb.com
thanks for sharing this with us! book is preordered and can’t wait to get a copy in my hands.
That starbucks drake hands thing was just so effing hilarious.I couldnt stop laughing. Awesome. Looks like you guys had a really fun weekend!!
