Nut's are often viewed as a "gateway" food with the Paleo diet. Many who switch to Paleo will often use nuts as a quick and easy snack food, which is not optimal for the diet. Nut's are high in omega 6 fatty acids which cause inflammation in the body. Nuts will also trigger digestive distress for many people as well, and can cause problems for those suffering from an autoimmune disease. We personally view nuts as a treat food, but you will often see them in our recipes as a garnish. When choosing nuts to eat, it is best to eat raw nuts, or even better to soak and dehydrate your nuts. For those who suffer from nut allergies, we have compiled all of our recipes that DO NOT include nuts, just for you!
