Superb! I used 1/2 maple syrup and 1/2 stevia and kept out the ginger. Then frosted the strawberry shortcakes on this site. I am in heaven!

We used this recipe for the chocolate cake, but omitted the ginger as well. Loved it! Such a hit…

I’m making the carrot cake (my first cake since being on the plan, which is 7 weeks now) and oh. my. word.. I’ve just prepped this frosting and I can’t stop dipping my finger in it! I’m not sure there’ll be any left for the cake!! What a superb idea the ginger is! (I used 1/2 maple syrup 1/2 coconut nectar)..

Cream cheese is NOT considered paleo. This recipe sounds delicious but it is actually very deceiving …. Ever since “paleo” became a mainstream “trend” it has been watered down and new followers of the (originally awesome) regimen are getting the “more approachable” version which isn’t actually paleo or primal.

If you don’t like the fact that we’re making this way of eating more accessible to more people, feel free to leave. We aren’t interested in some strict, dogmatic approach that feels more like a diet. We love food, and sometimes that means having a dessert. With dairy.

claireclaire: Where does it say this recipe is Paleo??? I believe we’re on a PRIMAL website & Primal folks do indeed consume limited DAIRY! Oh the HORROR!!!!

    Fantastic Frosting!!!
We eat mostly Paleo but sometimes dairy is necessary to really make a dish sing. This frosting was perfect for the Paleo carrot cake I made.
Thank you for this recipe; I will make it again and again!!!
