I spent my twenties overweight, except for a brief time when I lost 60 pounds on Slim-fast. I had diagnosed myself with IBS-D, but I figured it was all nerves and that a doctor would just put me on an SSRI, so I never had it addressed. I entered my thirties as a new mom, still overweight, and diagnosed as hypothyroid. By the time my daughter was born, I had found bloggers talking about Weston A. Price's work, so I stopped the lowfat junk and went gluten free. My digestion was still not great and I was still overweight, but I finally found a functional medicine doctor who told me I was sensitive to all the foods that Paleo restricts. I cut them out, and I went from 166 to 133 pounds. My digestion is still a work in progress, but it's better; I look fabulous, and I have energy now for my family!
