Paleo-friendly restaurants
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - This place is included because the local paleo meetup group listed it as a meeting place. Anyone got details? There are other similar establishments – anyone know if they live up to paleo standards?
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Bill and Hayley had a three course paleo meal here and reported the place to be amazeballs. Sounds like a winner! Glad H-Town treated our Food Lovers right!
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **-  Named one of America's top ten new restaurants in 2009 by Bon Appetit. Some frownworthy news: I heard on the radio that this place is closing when the time on its lease runs out.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Not sure whether the oils and seasonings qualify as paleo – anyone know? The beef is grassfed and the Freedom Salad is delicious!
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Two locations, one in Katy on I-10 and one downtown. It's a grocery with dine-in/take out options and, sometimes, live music!
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - A green restaurant "dedicated…strongly to rural Texas and nature in its purest forms." Meticulously sourced food.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Local, seasonal. Intimate BYOB tucked in the heart of Montrose.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Eggplant sauteed in olive oil is to die for! Is the olive oil cold-pressed? I doubt it. They also have great seafood options, but I don't know if they meet paleo sourcing standards. This is another one the community can weigh in on.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Pre-prepared meals with dedicated paleo menu items!
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Local organic "gourmet country" restaurant.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** next door that serves smoothies, juice, and on occasion paleo "treats".
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Locations in River Oaks and CITYCENTRE. Coming soon to Heights and Sugar Land.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – From the website: "High quality local and seasonal ingredients that are moderately priced in a warm, relaxed fine dining atmosphere."
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - Chef Monica Pope's new establishment. DELICIOUS!!! Some paleo friendly menu items.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Dedicated paleo meals!
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **- Part of Discovery Green downtown; uber eco-friendly place.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Items are locally sourced and mostly gluten free. Tricia has seen the chef at the Eastside Farmers Market buying items for dinner that night.

Other places to get food or groceries

  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** (at least the one on Hwy90/Hwy 6) - A regular grocery store, except it has Kombucha, pasture butter, sometimes pasture eggs, and an in-house My Fit Foods!

  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** – Does a great CSA program.  Yes sometimes you will get corn or white potatoes, but overall it is a good program.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** -  You can get pretty much everything from Jason including chicken, beef, pork, eggs, and even raw milk.

Paleo Practitioners

  • ** you don't have permission to see this link **:  Here is a doctor in Houston that comes recommended by a friend. This doctor is low-carb/paleo friendly and spends time talking about your diet and lifestyle rather than writing off prescriptions like it’s the new cool thing.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - She is an OBGYN who follows a Paleo lifestyle herself. She is willing to exhaust other options before just prescribing pills. She will do micro nutrient testing if you want it, but doesn't push it. Her office is out in Webster, but I am willing to drive from downtown to see her.
  • ** you don't have permission to see this link ** - A paleo Crossfitter who is also a Fertility Care Specialist certified in the research-based Creighton method.

I'd add ** you don't have permission to see this link ** to the list. Delivery of farm fresh veggies, meats etc. from local farms. They recently added Houston deliveries.

Also, with regard to natural movement, if I may, we at ** you don't have permission to see this link ** classes to our schedule.
