Keith here. I removed grains and seed oils in Nov 2010 after reading an article about gluten and inflammation. For me the inflammation came in the form of allergies and asthma, which dramatically improved within 30 days and have stopped taking all medications.
I've always loved to cook, which started around the age of 12 when I got tired of the TV dinners my parents were buying since they both were worked. My mother and grandparents taught me to cook and I began preparing meals for the family of 5.
Making the adjustments to remove grains from traditional recipes were no problem and continue to alter old family (Filipino) meals and trying new ones.
The only issue I have with Paleo/Primal cooking is nuts and seeds due to a food allergy. I can not try the dessert type recipes....guess that is a good thing.
Glad to have you here. Lots of people find nuts and seeds irritating (you're not alone in your allergy, that's for sure). I'm not sure if you're aware of it or not, but we have a dietary restriction filter on our site, and there is one for nuts. This could help you find more recipes that are okay for you to eat.
